💡Helpful Information for Existing Customers

We have updated two articles which relate to the release of Custom Organisation Attributes on 31st July 2024

Organisation Attributes

Adding Users in Bulk

We’ve pulled together this Article to share further information about changes to functionality as part of this release.

Custom Org Attributes

As part of this release you are able to Create Custom Org Attributes from Admin.

Notes for Customers with automated SFTP processes/ HRIS user feed set up between their HRIS & HulerHub

  • Changes to SFTP process have been done, but are not included in this release

  • You are not able to create/ update custom attributes via SFTP but can create from Admin

  • You can add custom attributes to some or all users until the sftp process is fully implementable

  • By setting up Custom Org Attributes in Admin, this will not impact your user feed /SFTP processes and nothing will be overwritten

What’s Next?

  • You will be provided with a second SFTP username to allow you to upload the CSV which supports custom org attributes

  • A new CSV template will be provided to you

  • You will have to change your username and reformat the CSV

We will provide further updates and comms on this, and estimate the ability to create/ update custom attributes via SFTP will be available by the end of August.

Adding Users in Bulk

CSV upload now links on Key. Each column heading has a key to tell the database where to put the data. This allows Huler more flexibility with csv upload and makes it easier for organisations to import user data. It no longer matters what order the columns appear in, BUT column headings must match the ‘key’ for each organisation attribute, for both custom and system attributes.

What you call it

Name

What we can it

Key

Change from ‘What you call it/What we call it’ language to ‘name’ and ‘key’. Name is how it appears everywhere (except in user csv download - this uses the ‘key’ so the file can be directly reuploaded with any changes. What we call it is now the attribute key. This must be a unique single word (allowing for _ to be used as a special character) that identifies the attribute. This cannot be changed on system or custom attributes, so choose this carefully when creating custom attributes

There is now an additional option when bulk uploading users to update or amend the users table., This allows admins to enter a subset of users, and update their attributes WITHOUT deleting any users not present in the csv. The bulk import option is still present and functions exactly as before, except the order of the columns no longer matters and is instead linked on column names, which must be the attribute key (not name) in order to link the data.
